Wood Rejuvenator

Over time, untreated timber exposed to the elements can lose its original vibrant colour, turning a dull silvery-grey. The primary culprits are UV rays from the sun, which bleach the wood's colour, along with air pollutants and natural biological processes. This can cause your beautiful timber to look tired and worn. However, with Treatex Wood Rejuvenator, you can restore your timber to its former glory, bringing back its natural colour and shine.

Treatex Wood Rejuvenator is a non-toxic, solvent-free cleaning agent formulated with natural ingredients. It combines fatty acids extracted from coconuts and Oxalic acid, which is naturally found in plants such as rhubarb leaves, brassicas, and parsley. These ingredients work together to gently lift dirt, dead cells, and grime from the surface of the timber without damaging it. The rejuvenator effectively restores the original colour of hardwood and softwood surfaces, including decks, fences, and garden furniture.

Choose Treatex Wood Rejuvenator offers multiple benefits, including:

●      Natural and safe ingredients

●      Gentle cleaning

●      Suitable for multiple surfaces

●      Colour restoration

Usage/Coverage

Treatex Wood Rejuvenator is suitable for external use and works on most hardwood and softwood timbers. Whether you’re looking to revive your decking, garden furniture, or wooden cladding, this product will work wonders.

Here’s an overview of the coverage:

1L of Treatex Wood Rejuvenator will cover approximately 10m² on smooth timber (coverage may be reduced on profiled timber).

2.5L of Treatex Wood Rejuvenator will cover approximately 25m² on smooth timber (coverage will decrease on profiled timber).

Preparation/Application

For the best results, ensure that the timber is dry before applying the rejuvenator. The product works most effectively on dry timber, so avoid applying it directly in the sun, as this could cause the product to dry too quickly before it can do its job. If applying in direct sunlight is unavoidable, lightly dampen the surface with a sprayer and allow the surface to sit for 10–15 minutes.

Application Steps:

  1. Apply a Liberal Coat: Using a Treatex brush (2-inch or 6-inch size), apply a liberal coat of Treatex Wood Rejuvenator to the surface of the timber.

  2. Wait a Few Minutes: Allow the product to sit for a few minutes, giving it time to break down dirt and grime.

  3. Mist with Water: Lightly mist the surface with water to help the product work more effectively.

  4. Scrub the Surface: Use a stiff brush or broom to vigorously scrub the surface, ensuring the rejuvenator is evenly spread.

  5. Rinse Thoroughly: Rinse the timber thoroughly with clean water to remove all of the product. You can also use a pressure washer to speed up this process, but ensure that the jet is not held too close to the surface to avoid damaging the wood grain.

  6. Allow to Dry: Leave the wood to dry for 1–2 days before applying a protective finish such as Treatex Exterior Oils or Treatex Anti-Slip Decking Oil.

Tips

Use Treatex Brushes: For the best application results, we recommend using Treatex’s own range of brushes, designed to make the process as smooth and effective as possible.

Avoid Over-Scrubbing: When scrubbing the wood, avoid using excessive force, as this could damage the surface. Let the rejuvenator do most of the work.

Pressure Washer Usage: If you opt to use a pressure washer for rinsing, make sure not to hold the jet too close to the timber surface. This will prevent damage to the delicate wood grain.
