What happened to External Oak Protection?
Our External Oak Protection was highly successful but was limited to treating timbers such as Oak or Idigbo. Our new UV Oil (which replaces External Oak Protection) is a more diverse product, providing a Clear, UV and highly weather protective finish to most timbers. Here is a list of number of ways it can be used:
For those wishing to treat external oak surfaces - we recommend still to apply a coat of one of our External Oak colours (Virgin/Regency Oak), followed by two coats of Treatex UV Oil.
For those treating softwoods/other hardwoods externally:
If you want a clear finish - you can apply just 2 coats of our new UV Oil for a clear, UV protective finish.
If you want to change colour - you can apply 2 coats of one our Exterior Oils Range, followed by a coat of UV Oil for further UV and Weather protection.
UV Oil can also be applied over Treatex Classic Colour Collection.
