Created using refined natural oils such as soy bean and sunflower oil, natural waxes, lead-free drying agents and iron oxide pigments, Thermowood Oil penetrates deeply into the timber, creating a strong finish that is suitable for most outdoor applications, such as decking, cladding and garden furniture.

Preparation
Treatex Thermowood Oil is for use on unfinished timbers. Previous finishes which stop Thermowood Oil penetrating into the timbers (e.g. paints and other ‘closed’ finishes) must be fully removed prior to application.Any greyed timber should first be treated with Treatex Wood Rejuvenator.
Ensure the timber is dry and free from possible contaminates e.g. algae, grease, dirt, dust etc. Ideally, timbers should be allowed to weather for at least 3 months. Timbers susceptible to mould and fungi should be treated first with a suitable preservative.
We advise that when using Thermowood Oil, sufficient product is purchased to complete the whole project and when more than one tin is required, it is advisable to mix them together before use. The timber must have a moisture content around 18% or lower and the ambient temperature must be between 8oc and 25oc during application and drying. Ensure that no rain is forecast before, during or after application or that timber is treated in a dry environment. We strongly recommend a trial application prior to starting the project.
Application
Stir tins thoroughly, before and during use. Use a brush or roller to evenly apply Treatex Thermowood Oil in the same direction as the wood grain. Pay attention to not over apply and avoid layer build-up. After approximately 12 - 24 hours, the first coat can be over coated. Apply with a brush or roller a second coat of Thermowood Oil. After the second coat leave for approximately 12 - 24 hours to dry. If the timber still looks hungry, a third coat may be necessary.
-
Treatex brushes and rollers are available. Wet brushes and rollers can be cleaned with Treatex Thinner or white spirit. Store tins in a cool and frost free environment. Unopened tins will last for five years. Once tins are opened, transfer contents to a smaller airtight container. Horizontal surfaces should be regularly inspected due to environmental factors such as standing water.
